The psycho-neuralgic disorders and physical inability from childhood have been always and still remain one of the main problems having the large medical-social significance. On a background of sharp lowering of birth rate there is an increase of frequency of pathological pregnancies and births, prematurely born and traumatism of a child during birth, which are directly connected with a possibility of further development of children's cerebral paralysis (CCP).
For the babies, born with weight of a body less than 1500 gr. the frequency of CCP (children's cerebral paralysis) in 25 - 30 times are higher, than for children having normal weight. Children, born with weight less than 2500 gr., constitute about third of all children with CCP.
The frequency of CCP among all newborn constitute 2,5 - 3 cases on 1000.
Not looking on the regular generally accepted medicine therapy, treatment by massage and gymnastics, prenatal damage of a brain keep a deep track, and their status is evaluated as CCP, delay of psychomotor development.
On this basis the physical inability from childhood is formed.
Not looking on the achieved successes, many researchers do not mark the essential changes in an epidemiological panorama of a children's cerebral paralysis. For the last 20 years its level has not undergone the changes. The large neuralgic defects of survived prematurely born children with small mass of a body at birth change in range from 8,5 up to 35 %, and small neuralgic disorders - from 13 up to 47 %. According to the data of 1995 in Canada, USA and Australia approximately 16 % of children with high prenatal risk had CCP, signs of a mental backwardness among 24 %, and deaf and blind children constitute 10 %. Moreover, 78 % of children not having symptoms of a mental backwardness, lag behind in social skills, have not very good showing in behavior, feel significant difficulties in studies and in this connection are forced to be trained on the special program. This circumstance became the reason for constant discussions on ethics and moral of used new technologies, which allow to survive to children earlier doomed to death.
The early rehabilitation (literally since the first days and weeks of life) at a high professional level allows to achieve the large successes in rehabilitation of the disabled, and the complete enough rehabilitation for prematurely born children can reach 60 - 80 %.
Drama of a situation consists not in that the modern medicine perfects methods of diagnostics and treatment, but in the fact that the scientific achievements, already tested and approved by practice, often appear unavailable to all citizens.
For this reason the Christian Educational Centre of Saints Methodius and Cyrill has decided to support the kind undertaking of the doctor Stanislav RUSIKEVICH from Minsk on the realization of that most important, medical-rehabilitation work with children till one year old on preventing the development of CCP within the framework of work of the constructed at present rehabilitation centre for the disabled.
The further development of this initiative directly depends on the financial support of those people, to whom the described above problem is not indifferent, and who could help to the Christian Educational Centre in the construction of the rehabilitation centre for the disabled, where the study of the doctor Rusikevich will function.
If you consider yourself to be the well-wisher or could tell us about such people, we kindly ask you to contact us for the future realization in life of the project of the construction of the medical-rehabilitation service on preventing of CCP for children till one year old.
