Ecumenical direction is very important characteristic of the activity of the Centre. This is the participation in the inter-Ñhurch dialogue and realization of joint projects with the Catholic and Evangelical Churches.

In particular the following important events were organized with the help of the Christian Educational Centre during recent years:

• The Ecumenical Conference of the Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical Churches of Europe “Called To One Hope In The Bond of Peace” (October, 1996), which was a preparatory event to the Ecumenical Congress in Graz.
• The 5^th Theological Conversations between representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and the German Bishop Conference “The Unity and Variety of the Church” (May, 1998).
• Theological Conversations with the Evangelical Church of Germany (May, 1998).
• The exhibition “From the Holy Land – to all Peoples” together with the Catholic Centre “Christian Russia” (December, 1997; February, 1999).
• A Round Table Forum with the Catholic Church of Belarus, dedicated to the 2000 anniversary of Christianity: “Orthodoxy and Catholicism in Belarus: past, present, future” (November, 1999).
• The Visit of the Chairman of the Commission of the Catholic Bishop Conference of Europe at Europe Union - Bishop Homeyer (January, 1999).
• A Series of seminars on Christian Ecology together with the Catholic workgroup “Schoepfungsverantwortung” from Vienna (October, 1999; May, 2000), in which the Orthodox and Catholics from Belarus and Austria took part; scientists and also academics and representatives of various ecological NGOs of Belarus.
• The Centre supports the work of the Orthodox-Catholic workgroup, dealing with analysis of common problems in the church life in Belarus. The questions, concerning Orthodox-Catholic marriages, the social work of Churches and educational activity are analyzed and discussed in this group.
• Together with the Belarus Bible Society, the Evangelical and Catholic Churches the Centre organized the presentation of the translation into the Belarusian language of the Gospel, according to Mark (March, 2000).
• Publishing of Calendars-Albums on 2000 & 2001 years, in which the masterpieces of Russian Icon Painting are represented (together with the Catholic Centre “Christian Russia”).
• Joint Orthodox-Catholic actions in Austria: an exhibition of Belarusian painters, dedicated to the problems of spiritual life; a photo-display “Pilgrimage to Russian Orthodox Monasteries” together with the cultural Centre of Jesuits of Austria and the Catholic workgroup “Schoepfungsverantwortung” in Vienna (September, 2000).
• Series of seminars on pedagogic and social work together with the Evangelical Church of Germany.
• The First Vice-President of the Centre is the member of WWC (World Council of Churches) workgroup on dialogue with Pentecostals.
• The Christian Educational Centre is a constant participant of the group on inter-confession dialogue at the German International Centre IBB-Dortmund-Minsk.

In the near future the Christian Educational Center is planning the following activities:

• An agreement between two theological faculties: the Orthodox Theological Faculty of EHU (Minsk) and the Catholic Theological Faculty (Fribourg, Switzerland) will be signed in October, 2000. In future an interchange is planned of students and lecturers, to conduct joint research work in theology, on theological questions of Church oikoumene in particular.
• In October, 2000 in Minsk and Zaslavl the Christian Ecological Action «The Day of Creation» and the International Seminar of the European Christian Ecological Network (ECEN) will be held out.
• In November, 2000 in Minsk the International Seminar will be held within the framework of Christian inter-confession dialogue «Orthodoxy and Europe», which is organized by the Christian Educational Center of Saints Methodius and Cyrill together with the scientific workgroup of the German Bishop Conference.
• In January, 2001 the Christian Educational Center of Saints Methodius and Cyrill will organize the traditional Christmas Party, at which the presentation of the calendar-album for 2001 and awarding of the Christmas premiums to the best teachers of the year will take place.
• In February 2001 together with the Catholic Diocese of Bolzano-Bressannone the Saints Methodius and Cyrill Christian Educational Centre and Theological Faculty will hold a theological scientific seminar. The Catholic delegation will be headed by Bishop Egger, among the participants will be the leading professors of Catholic Universities of Italy.
• In March 2001 there will be a joint student seminar of the Orthodox Theological Faculty of EHU (Minsk) and the Catholic Theological Faculty of Munster University. The seminar will be organized by Prof. Bremer and Prof. Danilov. The first part of the seminar will be held in Minsk, the second – in Munster.
• In May, 2001 in Minsk the International Congress «The VIIth Cyrill and Methodius Readings» will be held by the Christian Educational Centre of Saints Methodius and Cyrill together with the Belarusian University of Culture.
• In May, 2001, after the “VII^th Cyrill and Methodius Readings” the Christian Educational Center will hold the International Congress of the Christian Ecological Network in Minsk and Zaslavl.
