One of these days the International Voluntary Association "Christian Educational Centre of Saints Methodius and Cyrill" has awarded becoming already traditional Christmas Premiums "Christian traditions in culture and education".
In a nomination "secular teacher - lecturer" the winner became the senior lecturer of the Belarusian State university, professor Valentina Teplova, being also the senior lecturer of the chair of theological disciplines of faculty of theology of EHU, the author of several manuals on a history of Belarus.
In a nomination "teacher - lecturer - theologian" is awarded the secretary of an academic council of Minsk Theological Academy priest Alexander Bolonnikov. Except his pastor work, he helps to the students of Minsk Theological Academy in Zhirovitzy to issue the youth magazine "Steps".
Premiums have been handed in solemn atmosphere by the president of IVA "Christian Educational Centre of Saints Methodius and Cyrill" H.E. Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Philaret, Patriarch's Exarch of all Belarus and first vice-president of IVA "Christian Educational Centre of Saints Methodius and Cyrill" Mr.Dovgyuallo Grigory.
On ceremony of awarding of premiums there was also a deputy minister of education of Belarus Mr. Farino Kazimir. He has declared, that the decision has been undertaken that in the Belarusian schools the course "Religious studies" will be introduced.
As Mr. Dovgyallo has told: "Orthodox Church for last fifteen years, past after the ending of 70-years persecutions and repressions concerning believers, restores not only the potential of pastor work, but also public, including scientific and pedagogical activity. The "Christian Educational Centre of Saints Methodius and Cyrill" is a non state organization created by Orthodox Church as original experiment for revival of cooperation of Church and a society. The given premiums are the original contribution of Orthodox Christians to affair of support of work of teachers and to affair of adjustment of cooperation between the church and educational organizations.
